The book I’m listening to is so optimistic about America. So romantic. So proud. And I’m thinking why don’t people talk this any more. And it’s because this book was written when America was in its 20s. When it was the top dog. New on the scene. Full of potential. Getting pussy. Etc.

Now America is in its 50s. Shit is breaking down. We’re the weird guy at the party with clout that nobody can track the real source of. We’re fat, we’re sick, we can’t love like we used to. We’re divorced and our kids hate us. The end is near, we’re circling the drain.
